Ukraine plans to continue evacuation from Afghanistan after August 31. The return routes of our citizens can be adjusted depending on the development of the situation at the Kabul airport.

This was announced by speaker of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleh Nikolenko, UA reports with reference to Ukrinform agency.

According to him, over the past few days, the Foreign Ministry and the Ukrainian Embassy in Tajikistan have recorded a new wave of requests for evacuation from Afghanistan.

“Now the embassy is clarifying the data of people, their number, location and keeps in touch with them” – Nikolenko said.

He noted that on behalf of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, diplomats, together with representatives of other offices, are developing further safe exit routes, including the possibility of using other airports or ground routes.

“As soon as the opportunity appears, all citizens who reported themselves to the Ukrainian embassy in Tajikistan will receive instructions on further actions” – Nikolenko assured.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman recalled that Ukraine has already organized six evacuation flights in unprecedentedly difficult conditions, taking more than 650 people away from Afghanistan.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine became one of the leaders among European states in terms of the number of citizens evacuated from Afghanistan.

To remind, the United States thanked Ukraine for the evacuation of people from Kabul.
