Two high-ranking security officials of Kazakhstan found dead

In Kazakhstan, Colonel of the National Security Committee (KNB) Azamat Ibraev and the head of the Police Department of the Zhambyl region, General Zhanat Suleimenov, were found dead.

This is reported by UA with reference to the mass media of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“On January 10, 2022, in the city of Nur-Sultan, in the courtyard of a house at the place of residence, the body of KNB Colonel Azamat Ibraev was found,” the website of the KNB of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.

Local publications report that injuries to his body were received as a result of falling from a height. The fact of death was registered in the Esil police department. An investigation is underway.

In addition, according to the Orda.kz correspondent, the head of the Police Department of the Zhambyl region, General Zhanat Suleimenov, committed suicide. After protests, a criminal case was opened against him, he was threatened with a tribunal.

Let us remind you that the number of victims of protests in Kazakhstan is growing, the number of those detained is in the thousands. In the largest city of the country – Almaty – meanwhile the so-called “anti-terrorist operation” continues. All the forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) are concentrated there. In general, the situation in Kazakhstan is stabilizing.
