Overnight into today, July 26, Russia attacked Ukraine with eight missiles and more than a hundred drones. Air defense forces shot down most of the targets, but there were hits in various regions. Fires and destruction were recorded in three districts of Kyiv. Strikes also hit Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kherson, and other regions. This was reported by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UATV English reports.
“All necessary services are working at the site of an attack drone strike on residential buildings in Kharkiv. One person was killed, nine more injured, including two children. State Emergency Service units are continuing to put out a fire at an ordinary construction hypermarket in Kryvyi Rih. In total, the Russians launched eight missiles and 136 drones of various types at Ukraine overnight. Many targets were shot down, but unfortunately not all,” he wrote on social media.
Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions, along with Kyiv, came under attack. The enemy struck Ukraine’s capital with a ballistic missile, and three people were injured.
“Every day we work with partners to ensure our soldiers have what they need to counter these strikes. Russia’s bet on ballistic terror needs to be broken. That’s why it’s very important that anti-ballistic packages arrive on time. Every interceptor missile right now literally helps save people’s lives if it’s here, in Ukrainian systems, rather than sitting in partners’ warehouses,” the head of state stressed.
Over the past week alone, the Russians used nearly 1,700 drones, more than 1,600 aerial bombs, and 95 missiles against Ukraine, more than half of which were ballistic.
As reported, overnight into July 26 Russian forces carried out a ballistic strike on Kyiv, causing fires and destruction in three districts of the capital: Desnianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Solomianskyi.
