The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has approved a request to impose a measure of restraint on the fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the form of arrest with the possibility of bail of UAH 1 billion.
UA reports this with reference to Ukrinform agency.
“The prosecutor’s office agreed to petition for Poroshenko’s arrest with the possibility of bail of one billion hryvnias” – they said in the Office.
Besides, during a closed session in the Pechersk District Court, the investigating judge considered and approved the prosecutor’s office’s request for permission to detain Poroshenko for trial, where he should be remanded in custody.
To remind, on December 20, Poroshenko was informed about suspicion of high treason and assistance to activities of terrorist organizations.
