Swiss and Polish Leaders Discuss Preconditions for Achieving Peace in Ukraine

Swiss President Karin Keller-Sutter met with Polish President Karol Nawrocki and Prime Minister Donald Tusk to discuss the preconditions for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, the Swiss Federal Council reported following Keller-Sutter’s visit to Warsaw on Thursday, UATV English reports.

“Another central topic of both meetings was the security situation in Europe. The parties discussed current challenges to European security and the preconditions for achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the statement said.

No further details of the discussions between the Swiss and Polish leaders were provided.

The visit also included talks on deepening cooperation between Switzerland and Poland and a package of agreements between Switzerland and the European Union, with special attention given to the economic and security challenges facing Europe as a whole.

President Keller-Sutter reaffirmed Switzerland’s support for rules-based multilateral cooperation, highlighting the important roles of the IMF and World Bank.

Previously, during a meeting on September 23 in New York, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to President Keller-Sutter for her readiness to host a meeting of leaders from Ukraine, the US, and Russia.
