Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that Russia deliberately attacked a NATO country. According to him, the Kremlin’s claims of non-involvement are lies and a typical Soviet practice.

Sikorski wrote about this on the social network X.

According to Sikorski, on the night of Wednesday, Poland’s airspace was violated 19 times by drones of Russian production.

“The assessment of the Polish Air Force and NATO is that they did not deviate from the course but were intentionally directed,” the head of the MFA said.

Sikorski reported that he had already held phone conversations with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, and OSCE Chair Elina Valtonen.

The minister rejected Moscow’s version that Russia was not involved in the attack and that it was supposedly a “Ukrainian provocation.”

“I know that Russia claims there is supposedly no evidence that these were Russian drones, and even hints at a Ukrainian provocation. This was expected. Lies and denial are the standard Soviet response. The Kremlin once again mocks President Trump’s peace efforts,” Sikorski said.

Sikorski emphasized that anyone who claims it was a “Ukrainian provocation” is in fact spreading Russian propaganda. He also assured that Poland, the EU, and NATO will not be intimidated.

“We will continue to support the brave people of Ukraine. It is time for the Russian leadership to understand that the attempt to restore the last empire of Europe is doomed to fail,” the Polish Foreign Minister summarized.

As previously reported, during a press conference on Wednesday, September 10, Sikorski said that Poland could suffer an even worse violation of its airspace than the one that occurred on the night of September 10. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reported that the military initially counted 19 violations of the country’s airspace on September 10. Media unofficially say about more than 20 UAVs.

A spokesman for the Polish government said that NATO invoked Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which provides for consultations.

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, after the raid of Russian drones on Poland, stated that it was a deliberate and the most serious violation of the airspace of a European Union state by Russia.
