Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov discussed in the United States possible formats for leader-level meetings to end the war.
As reported by UATV English, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Facebook.
He noted that he heard Umerov’s report following meetings with special representatives of the U.S. President — Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
“We continue to be in communication with representatives of the United States almost daily. Today Rustem Umerov reported following meetings with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. It is important that America remains engaged in diplomacy and, in particular, has acted as a mediator on the issue of prisoner exchanges,” the President noted.
According to him, contacts are ongoing at the necessary level to agree on the configuration of the exchange. The lists have been handed over, and Ukraine expects the American side to play an active role in ensuring the implementation of this agreement.
Zelenskyy also said that possible formats for meetings and negotiations at the leader level to end Russia’s war were discussed in the United States.
“Separately and in detail, Rustem reported on contacts with countries interested in Drone Deals with Ukraine. Already around 20 countries are involved at various stages: four agreements have been signed, and within these agreements the first contracts are being prepared; with other countries, preparatory procedures for political arrangements are ongoing, which will open the way for business. Ukraine already has guaranteed initial energy results thanks to these agreements — the required volume of fuel on the Ukrainian market is being ensured. There will also be significant financial results,” Zelenskyy stressed.
He added that beyond the Middle East, the Gulf, the South Caucasus, and Europe, “we will soon open a new area of security cooperation within Drone Deals with another part of the world. We are preparing news — positive for Ukraine.”
As reported by Ukrinform, Donald Trump stated that he is ready to send a U.S. delegation to Moscow for negotiations on the war in Ukraine.
