Russia is preparing false-flag provocations aimed at NATO member states in an effort to erode allied trust in Ukraine, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, in a Telegram statement cited by UATV English.

“Russia is preparing false-flag provocations against NATO countries. In particular, it may use drones disguised as Ukrainian ones to carry out attacks against the Baltic states as well as provocations against Poland in order to undermine trust in Ukraine,” Kovalenko wrote.

He added that Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) is behind planning these operations, with the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) potentially also involved.

As previously reported, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said Russia could be preparing provocations against Poland using captured Ukrainian drones.
