French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot said that Putin’s “Easter truce” was a marketing operation to prevent the irritation of US President Donald Trump.
According to Ukrinform, he said this in an interview with France info on Tuesday.

“I believe that the ‘Easter truce’, which he (Putin – ed.) announced somewhat unexpectedly, was a marketing operation designed to prevent President Trump’s impatience and irritation,” he said.

However, according to Barrot, his Ukrainian counterparts told him that they had recorded a certain decrease in the intensity of drone and missile strikes.

At the same time, the French minister avoided answering the question about the chances of a ceasefire this week.

“This is a question that should be asked of Vladimir Putin, because more than a month ago, based on a Franco-British proposal, Ukrainians unilaterally proposed a ceasefire at sea, in the air and at energy facilities. This proposal was welcomed by the Americans,” he recalled, adding that the next meeting of the negotiators will take place on Wednesday in London.
