President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy yesterday, December 15, took part in a plenary session of the VI Eastern Partnership Summit in Brussels.

This is reported by UA with reference to the OP.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that three flagship initiatives of an economic and investment nature based on the results of the Eastern Partnership summit are of particular importance for Ukraine.

The first is the modernization of checkpoints and renewal of infrastructure at the borders. And for Ukraine, support from the EU in this matter will be very valuable. In this context, the Ukrainian president noted the importance of concluding an agreement on the liberalization of road transport.

The second initiative, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, concerns digital transformation and IT infrastructure. He recalled that the portal of public services “Diia”, which is already used by more than 11 million Ukrainians, has made Ukraine a leader in digital services. The next step is the launch of “Diia. City”, which will create the most powerful IT hub in Eastern Europe and other ambitious innovative projects. The practical result along the way would be the abolition of roaming charges between the EU and partners.

The third initiative, noted by the head of state, concerns energy efficiency and hydrogen energy, which is important for Ukraine and its energy security. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that next year a big thermal modernization will start in Ukraine. Also, our country is ready to become a leader in the development of hydrogen energy, which will make it possible to gain complete energy independence and achieve climate neutrality.

“In all these projects, Ukraine counts on the support of the EU and international financial institutions,” the head of state stressed.
