Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski announced that Poland is preparing its 47th, 48th, and 49th military aid packages for Ukraine, following talks with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha.

The ministers met at the Polish Foreign Minister’s residence in Kobylin, northern Poland.

“Today we discussed continued military cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in resisting Russian aggression and imperialism. We reviewed the implementation of the 47th aid package and ongoing work on the 48th and 49th, which are especially important this year as they will provide substantial defense support to our neighbor,”
said Sikorski, who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister in Donald Tusk’s government.

He noted that details of the aid packages would not be made public.

Sikorski emphasized that Poland is pleased its arguments in favor of maintaining and expanding military support for Ukraine are resonating with key allies, especially the United States.

He welcomed former President Donald Trump’s decision to resume military aid to Ukraine following damage to the Polish consulate in Kyiv.

Reacting to the recent Russian strikes on Ukraine, including Kyiv, Sikorski stated that Putin “has learned nothing from the atrocities of World War II”:

“The madness of the dictator is stronger.”

“I deeply believe Poland will always stand with a free and independent Ukraine,”
Sikorski stressed, noting that a recent call between President Zelensky and Poland’s newly elected President Karol Nawrocki reaffirmed this commitment.

He added that there is a broad national consensus in Poland across major political parties in support of Ukraine.

“A free Ukraine means a secure Poland,”
Sikorski declared.

He thanked Ukraine’s Armed Forces for defending Ukraine, Poland, and Europe:

“From the barbaric hordes that once brought fire and terror to the Polish nation—and are now doing the same to Ukraine.”

Sikorski also reaffirmed Poland’s strong support for Ukraine’s EU integration, calling it vital for Ukraine’s sovereignty and citizens’ prosperity.
