Possible provocations involving the fighters of the Wagner terrorist group located in Belarus will be considered by NATO as actions supported by the leadership of Russia. This was announced by the new Ambassador of Latvia to the Alliance, Maris Riekstinš, in an interview with TV3, FREEDOM reports with reference to Delfi.

The official assesses the possibility of such provocations as “relatively low”, but does not rule them out completely.

If provocations do occur, NATO will regard them as actions supported by the Russian leadership and will respond with appropriate steps, Riekstinsh emphasized.

According to him, it will no longer work to “get tangled up” in claims that the group is allegedly a private company.
