Tonight, after a triumphant victory, the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO World Heavyweight Champion, boxer Oleksandr Usyk, returned to Ukraine from London.

This was reported by UA from the event.

He defeated world champion Anthony Joshua on Saturday in the British capital. The athlete was greeted by journalists, fellow boxers and fans with light panels in the colors of the Ukrainian flag at 2.00 AM at Terminal B of Boryspil Airport.

Among the people who met the boxer was the former world champion in professional boxing, vice-president of the Professional Boxing League of Ukraine Alina Shaternikova. According to her, despite the bookmakers’ predictions in favor of Joshua, she did not doubt the victory of Oleksandr Usyk.

“Close people know how Oleksandr Usyk works, how much desire and perseverance he has. I believed in Oleksandr. A couple of weeks ago I wrote him a text message that he has everything to win. He responded and said – thank you so much for the words of support” – Shaternikova said.

The victory over Joshua brought Oleksandr Usik the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles. Only one fight separates him from the title of absolute heavyweight champion – for the WBC belt.

A rematch between Usyk and Joshua is planned. Such a clause is listed in the contract for the battle in case of a Ukrainian victory. According to Oleksandr Usyk, he would like to hold a re-fight in Kyiv at the “Olimpiyskiy” National Sports Complex.

“I have thoughts: go home, get home faster, see my sons and daughter, who were very worried about me. You know, in one of the rounds, it seems to me, in the third, I hit him well in the chin. And the inner state is like this – “I felt a little blood”, and I went on. This round was very tense” – the world champion shared his emotions.
