France will not participate in the U.S.-led PURL initiative for supplying arms to Ukraine but continues to assist in other areas, Minister Delegate Élis Rufo confirmed during a briefing in Kyiv, UATV English reports.
Rufo emphasized that while France is not part of PURL, it welcomes support from other European partners for the initiative and encourages the development of European defense capabilities. She highlighted the importance of Europe preparing to make independent decisions and building its own defense systems in the future.
“We are not part of PURL. However, we are helping in other sectors,” Rufo said, praising the support of other European partners in the initiative and emphasizing the importance of developing European defense systems.
Rufo also noted that Europe must be prepared to make independent decisions and develop its own systems in the future. During her visit to Kyiv, she honored fallen Ukrainian defenders at the Wall of Memory.
