Russia may fake the reason to invade Ukraine. Response by USA, UK and NATO (VIDEO)

Russia is trying to create a fake reason to invade Ukraine. That was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, commenting on reports of shelling on the line of contact. This is a blatant attempt by the Russian government, a typical Kremlin strategy. And the reaction will be relevant

DMYTRO KULEBA, MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF UKRAINE

We worked on it to prepare Ukraine for some kind of scenario. We didn’t succeed and I can once again confirm that Ukraine is now in a strong position. Russia will try to create different situations to attach liability on us, but we are clearly prepared for any kind of scenario

ELIZABETH TRUSS, UK FOREIGN SECRETARY

We warned about the dangers of false flag operations. We clearly state our position – Russia is the aggressor. We will continue to detect provocations and cyber attacks and other attempts to undermine the stability of Ukraine.

Russian units are slowly approaching the borders of Ukraine and are increasing their combat readiness in all directions.

LLOYD AUSTIN, US SECRETARY OF DEFENSE

We see that they use more combat and support aircraft. We see how they increase their readiness in the Black Sea. We see how they replenish blood supplies. I was a soldier myself. And I can say with confidence that such things are not done without a specific purpose.

NATO refutes reports by the Russian Defense Ministry about the withdrawal of troops from the Ukrainian border.

JENS STOLTENBERG, NATO SECRETARY GENERAL

There are certain signals from Moscow regarding diplomacy, but so far we do not see signs of withdrawal or de-escalation. Russia is once again demonstrating its disrespect for principles based on European security, as well as its ability and willingness to use threat of force to achieve its own goals. Unfortunately, I’m afraid this is the new normal for which we must be prepared.

Europe is ready to instantly respond to any actions of the Russian Federation on the borders – a package of powerful economic sanctions is already ready and awaiting approval in the Council of Europe.

JOSEP BORRELL, HIGH REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UNION FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND SECURITY POLICY

We have prepared a heavy package of sanctions, and as the High Representative, I am pleased to present this package to the meeting. Because the Council is empowered to approve such sanctions. I will present it as soon as it is needed.

Right now, about one hundred and fifty thousand Russian soldiers and military equipment necessary for the invasion are concentrated around Ukraine.
