According to the press service of the National Police of Ukraine, they maintained order during the UEFA Champions League Final.
On the night of the game, approximately 10,000 police officers patrolled Kyiv streets.
“Everything went quite smoothly at the match. There were 2 clashes between the supporters, but the stewards and then the police quickly escorted the violators outside the stadium,” head of Kyiv’s national police Andriy Kryshchenko said.
“After the match, a number of young people attempted to start a fight. However, law-enforcement arrested all 18 people, and took them to the district police office,” he said.
He also noticed that at 12:35am, when the match was over, fans left Olympic Stadium and several thousand departed for Borispol at the game’s end.
There had also been some reports of hooliganism prior to game day.
