In September, Ukraine will receive drones, ammunition, and armored vehicles from Canada’s aid package totaling more than 1 billion Canadian dollars (over $700 million USD).
This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during the Independence Day celebrations in Kyiv.
Carney reminded that during the G7 summit in June, Canada pledged an additional 2 billion Canadian dollars in military aid to Ukraine.
“I am proud to announce that over 1 billion of this amount will be used to strengthen your arsenal by supplying drones, ammunition, and armored vehicles, which will arrive next month,” Carney said.
Additionally, Canada will allocate tens of millions of dollars for emergency medical aid, construction of bomb shelters, support for local democracy, and Ukraine’s cybersecurity.
Carney emphasized that his country will remain a reliable ally of Ukraine both in countering Russian aggression and in post-war reconstruction.
“Putin can be stopped. The Russian economy is weakening. He is becoming increasingly isolated, while our alliance grows stronger, more determined, and united,” added the Canadian Prime Minister.
As previously reported, on Independence Day, August 24, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited Kyiv and participated in the celebrations.
