President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The security situation related to the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine was discussed.
This was reported by UA with reference to the website of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The interlocutors agreed on the need to coordinate the efforts of the international community on the issue of localization of threats from the Russian Federation and the preservation of sanctions policy.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the Chancellor about the security situation in Donbass, as well as the steps taken by Ukraine to achieve peace.
The interlocutors noted the need to continue working in the Normandy format.
The President of Ukraine thanked Angela Merkel for her long-term support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our state, as well as for her active position in the negotiations in the Normandy format.
The migration crisis on the borders of the EU countries with Belarus was also discussed. The interlocutors noted the importance of coordination between Ukraine and the European Union in order to prevent the use of the migration crisis in order to destabilize the situation in the European Union and in Ukraine.
To remind, German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned Russia against aggression against Ukraine.
