Washington is monitoring the movement of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine and will continue consultations with international allies and partners on this issue.
This was stated by US State Department spokesman Ned Price, UA reports.
He stressed that any aggressive actions aimed at escalation would be a matter of serious concern to the United States. Washington supports de-escalation in the region, as well as a diplomatic settlement of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.
He also reminded that a meeting of the foreign ministers of the United States and Ukraine will take place today within the framework of the meeting of the Strategic Partnership Commission.
Earlier it was reported that Andriy Yermak in Washington discussed the security situation in the east and around Ukraine.
