Ukraine will participate in NATO Arms conference

For the first time in half a century, Ukraine was invited to a meeting of NATO’s supreme advisory body.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Nosov. He will represent Ukraine at this event, UA reports.

The National Weapons Directors’ Conference will take place on October 26, at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. This meeting coordinates the Alliance’s policy on the development of weapons and military equipment. Heads of national departments or relevant departments responsible for the formation and implementation of policy in the field of weapons and military equipment are involved in the work of the conference.

According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Nosov stressed that the conference will be held immediately after last week, on October 21, NATO defense ministers approved a new plan for the defense of the alliance during conflicts and crises, with the aim of planning the immediate formation of the Alliance forces at the right time and in the right place.
