The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the strategic communications center, StratCom Ukraine, has launched an online campaign, #CorrectUA, which appeals to foreign media to use the correct the spelling of Kyiv, the ministry’s press service reports.
The ministry urges to use the Ukrainian transliteration Kyiv, and not the Russian Kiev.
Every day during the campaign, the ministry will post on its Facebook and Twitter pages, instances of the use of Kiev instead of Kyiv, by leading foreign media outlets such as The New York Times, BBC, Reuters, the Washington Post and CNN, among others.
To participate in the campaign:

- Use hashtags #KyivNotKiev and #CorrectUA, tag relevant leading foreign media, and appeal to them to spell Kyiv correctly.
