Kyiv came under Russian shelling overnight into today, July 26, causing fires in Desnianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts. This is according to UATV English, citing Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (DSNS).
In Desnianskyi district, a warehouse burned down, along with 10 cars and a truck in a parking lot. In Shevchenkivskyi district, a 4-story vacated building was on fire, while in Solomianskyi district a fire and destruction were recorded in a non-residential premise.
All fires resulting from the Russian attack have been extinguished.
In addition, in Shevchenkivskyi district, debris fell on an 18-story building. A fire broke out on the 7th-8th floors. This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Emergency services are working at the scene.
It’s worth noting that in Kyiv and a number of Ukrainian regions, air raid alerts were declared twice overnight due to the threat of ballistic missiles. The military recorded missile movement through Chernihiv region and urged Ukrainians to stay in shelters.
As previously reported, two people were killed and more than 20 injured as a result of a series of Russian attacks on Zaporizhzhia. Since the evening of July 24, Russian forces have been striking the regional center with aerial bombs and drones. Private homes and apartment buildings, retail premises, a production workshop, and the city cemetery have been destroyed or damaged.
