Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said securing a ceasefire as soon as possible would be preferable to prolonging the war for a decade or two in pursuit of outright victory, speaking in an interview with MAGA blogger Laura Loomer, UATV English reports.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated his readiness to sign a peace agreement with Russia in the Oval Office or at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.
The blogger asked Zelenskyy whether he was ready to sign a peace agreement with Russia in the Oval Office.
“Yes, I’m ready. I’ve always told President Donald Trump that I’m ready to come to the US, to the Oval Office or to Mar-a-Lago. It all depends on President Trump,” he noted.
At the same time, the president added that when it comes to a peace agreement, the question isn’t where to sign it, but when it will be signed.
During the interview, he also said that his American counterpart Donald Trump understands that it is Russia that is not interested in ending the war.
“If we could achieve a truce tomorrow, that would be better than fighting for 10-20 years for victory and losing people,” Zelenskyy said.
He said it has become clear to everyone that Russia, not Ukraine, is the side uninterested in ending the war.
Zelenskyy also said Ukraine is developing drones capable of flying up to 10,000 kilometers, noting that Ukraine already operates drones with a range of 3,000 kilometers and is producing models with a 4,000-kilometer range.
Earlier in the interview, Zelenskyy said his relationship with U.S. President Donald Trump improved through a brief conversation in the Vatican, following a tense exchange between the two in the Oval Office in February 2025.
