British military intelligence and analytical centers across NATO have concluded that Russia could be fully capable of launching a direct armed attack against NATO member states by 2030, UATV English reports.

This was stated by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during a working visit to a defense manufacturing facility operated by Stark in Swindon, UATV English reports.

The British leader outlined the government’s long-term strategy for investing in national security. Starmer stressed that strengthening the armed forces and expanding weapons production are matters of critical urgency because of the threat posed by a potential Russian attack on NATO, a risk highlighted in classified intelligence assessments.

“If you need a reminder of why this matters, our intelligence assessment, along with those of other NATO countries, is that Russia could attack NATO by 2030. So you can see the urgency and priority we attach to this issue,” he said.

According to British media reports, the government’s newly approved plan includes more than £18 billion in additional funding for the defense sector.

The funding package had reportedly been delayed for an extended period due to disagreements within the Cabinet over budget allocations. However, amid growing geopolitical threats, a compromise was reached and the plan was ultimately approved. The document is expected to be published in the coming weeks.

Starmer also argued that a significant increase in state investment would have a positive long-term impact on the domestic economy by expanding manufacturing capacity and creating new jobs at defense facilities across the United Kingdom.
