As of 10:00 a.m., two people have been killed and 40 injured in Kyiv as a result of a combined attack by Russia, including a one-month-old baby, UATV English reports.
According to State Emergency Service of Ukraine spokesperson in Kyiv Pavlo Petrov and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, rescuers managed to save 28 people.
Later, Klitschko stated that the number of injured had risen to 40, including two children. A total of 31 people were hospitalized, among them one child.
In the Darnytskyi district, part of a residential building collapsed. According to the mayor, 18 apartments were destroyed. Emergency services reported that 27 people were rescued from the building, but others may still be trapped under the rubble.
Response operations are ongoing in the Obolon, Darnytskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts.
The mayor also reported disruptions to water supply on the left bank of the city following the attack.
Earlier reports indicated that the strike had initially left one person dead and 33 injured, while in the Kyiv region seven people were reported injured, including one child.
