The UK government has announced a new package of military and humanitarian support to mark the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, UATV English reports.

This is stated in an official release by the British government.

As noted, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will chair a meeting of the “coalition of the willing” on February 24, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper will be on a visit to Kyiv, and Defense Secretary John Healey will join Ukrainians in London.

“On this solemn anniversary, our message to the Ukrainian people is simple: the United Kingdom stands with you, stronger than ever. That is why today we are announcing new support and will continue to stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes,” Starmer said in a statement.

The support package announced today includes:

▪️ £20 million in new funding for emergency energy support to protect and repair the energy grid and provide additional electricity generation capacity — addressing damage caused by Russia’s brutal attacks this winter and helping secure Ukraine’s energy systems for the next winter.

▪️ £5.7 million in humanitarian assistance for frontline communities, those in need of evacuation, or those affected by airstrikes or internal displacement.

▪️ Medical advisory support — highly qualified teams of British military surgeons, nurses, and physiotherapists will advise medical personnel in Ukraine. They will accompany Ukrainian teams performing complex battlefield surgeries, using the UK’s expertise in trauma surgery and treatment of war injuries to help Ukrainian servicemembers return to duty or rebuild their lives as civilians.

▪️ Helicopter pilot training — Ukrainian pilots are currently training at a British airbase to become helicopter flight instructors. This marks the first time the UK has offered helicopter instructor training to Ukraine. Graduates will train the next generation of Ukrainian military pilots, helping Ukraine defend itself and deter aggression.

The announced support follows significant assistance unveiled earlier this month by the Defense Secretary, including £500 million to strengthen air defense and 1,000 Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM) to protect Ukraine from ongoing Russian drone attacks.
