Indian authorities have announced the beginning of an attack on “terrorist” infrastructure in Pakistan.
Reuters journalist Idrees Ali reported this on social media platform X and through Reuters.
Indian officials stated that they struck nine targets as part of Operation Sindur.
“Our actions were precise, measured, and non-escalatory. No Pakistani military facilities were targeted,” the Indian government said.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that India had carried out missile strikes on sites within Pakistani territory.
According to eyewitnesses, power went out in the city of Muzaffarabad following the explosions.
A spokesperson for the Pakistani military told ARY News that India launched missile attacks at three locations in Pakistan and that Pakistan will respond.
The Indian Army posted on X: “Justice has been served. Glory to India.”
Earlier, India had accused Pakistan of being behind the deaths of 26 people and vowed to retaliate. Pakistan denied involvement in the killings and claimed it has intelligence suggesting that India was planning an attack.
