There are prospects for the development of relations between Israel and Ukraine – expert analysis

There is a prospect for the development of relations between Israel and Ukraine, as the support of the Ukrainians by the Israelis affects the position of the country’s leadership. Such an opinion on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel, was expressed by the founder of the charitable foundation “Close the Sky of Ukraine”, retired lieutenant general Igor Romanenko.

He recalled that the other day a productive conversation took place between the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense Alexei Reznikov and his Israeli counterpart Yoav Galant

“There is a certain perspective in relations with Israel. We believe that the people of Israel will see the light in terms of support for Ukraine and its leadership … We need to work on this, and the military-political leadership is doing this, ”said Romanenko.

In his opinion, it was due to the fact that the people of Israel are more supportive of the position of Ukraine that the missile strike warning system was transferred to it. The issue of providing two Iron Dome air defense systems was also raised, but so far the Israeli side has not given permission for their transfer to Ukraine.

“Israel does not approve re-exports. In my opinion, there is such a prospect, it would be very good. Tank Merkava: Israel is considering selling to Europe. One of the countries might be Poland. Well, we have close relations with the Poles. What if these tanks end up in Ukraine? We need them. There are 100 or more, maybe … These are not the last modifications that they have there in the units that are almost constantly fighting in Israel. But the Merkava 3 is a fairly modern tank. And we also need Merkava 2, because we need to gain mass in armaments. This is necessary, we can already see by the nature of the hostilities that are currently underway,” Romanenko said.

Earlier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky said that from the very beginning of the full-scale war, Israel has been supporting Ukraine, standing on its side. In particular, Israel donated humanitarian aid to victims of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station.
