Statement by SE IBMPU regarding the cyberattack on the corporate network of the FREEДОМ TV channel

On April 24, Russian hackers carried out an attack on the internal communication system of the FREEДОМ TV channel, in particular gaining temporary access to the editorial corporate chat.

As a result of the incident, logins of some journalists and editors of the channel, as well as other employees of the State Enterprise “The International Broadcasting Multimedia Platform of Ukraine” (IBMPU), were leaked online, along with fragments and individual screenshots of internal correspondence. Responsibility for the attack on FREEДОМ was claimed by one of the Russian hacker groups.

At present, the technical units of IBMPU, together with relevant state services, are working to eliminate the consequences of the intrusion.

As reported earlier, hackers have repeatedly carried out large-scale attacks on the digital platforms of the FREEДОМ TV channel, and have also made attempts of malicious interference in the broadcasting of IBMPU channels “Дім” and FREEДОМ via satellite.
