From UAH 6,800 to UAH 13,600: The Verkhovna Rada passed a law on fines for selling drugs to children

Today, November 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading a bill establishing liability for the sale of drugs to minors.

This was reported by UA with reference to the broadcast of the Verkhovna Rada meeting.

The Bill on Liability for the Sale of Medicines to Minors (under 14) №5123-1 was adopted as a basis in June 2021.

The law stipulates that the sale of drugs to minors, as well as their delivery to the final consumer – a minor child, will entail the imposition of a fine on a person who retails drugs and / or delivers drugs to the final consumer. The amount of the fine is from 400 to 800 non-taxable minimum incomes, or UAH 6,800 – UAH 13,600.

If the offense is committed repeatedly during the year, the fine is increased from 800 to 1,400 non-taxable minimum incomes, from UAH 13,600 to UAH 23,800.
