Moldova expects another attempt at destabilizing political situation in the country using the regime in the Transnistrian region from Russia this spring.
This was stated by Moldova’s President Maia Sandu, reports AGERPRES.
“We know that this spring Russia will resume its actions to try to destabilize the situation,” Maia Sandu claimed.
The government is aware of the threat and informs citizens about it.
“We talk to them and we communicate to the citizens about these risks, as we did last year, when Russia’s intention was to overthrow the Government. Together with the citizens and the state institutions, we are trying to protect ourselves from these risks, but we still have work to do, there are still vulnerabilities,” Sandu decribed Moldova’s response to the threat.
Moldova also relies on the support of Romania and the international community in general. Brussels is now focused on the upcoming European Parliament elections, but Moldova hasn’t stopped fighting for its future in EU and Russia may be tempted to impede it.
