The United States will continue to provide military support to Ukraine.
This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at a press briefing after the signing of the Charter of Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and the United States, UA reports with reference to Ukrinform.
In particular, the United States will continue to provide lethal weapons to protect against Russian aggression.
“We continue to provide security assistance that Ukraine needs, including lethal defensive weapons, to defend against any Russian aggression. That is a vital aspect of our support and assistance to make sure that Ukraine has the means to defend itself against any aggression” – Blinken said.
He added that the United States is working closely with European partners and allies “to make sure that everyone is focused on the concerns that we have about the possibility of renewed Russian aggression based on the reports we’re seeing of these irregular movements of Russian forces near Ukraine’s border, and we are coordinating our actions”.
According to the US Secretary of State, this issue was raised during the summit in Rome in late October.
Blinken recalled that the United States has provided more than $409 billion to Ukraine since 2014 and at this current fiscal year, Congress has allocated almost $400 million at the request of the White House.
To remind, the United States held consultations on the situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
