The International Monetary Fund will allocate $650 billion from reserve assets to support the world economy.
UA informs this with reference to the statement of the Managing Director of the IMF Kristalina Georgieva.
According to her, this is “the largest distribution of special drawing rights (SDR) in the history of the IMF and an incentive for the world economy during the crisis.”
Georgieva noted that the allocation of SDR will help member states to meet the long-term global need for reserves, build confidence, and also contribute to strengthening the stability of the global economy.
“This will especially help the most vulnerable countries that are struggling to cope with the coronavirus crisis” – the official said.
Distribution of funds will take place on August 23, 2021. Georgieva clarified that the IMF member countries will receive SDR in proportion to their quotas in the Fund.
Vladyslav Roshkovan, Ukraine’s deputy executive director at the IMF, said on Facebook that Ukraine would receive $2.7 billion.
