Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that Ukraine’s position is now the strongest it has been since the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war.

He wrote this on X following a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UATV English reports.

Stubb noted that the conversation with Zelenskyy was productive.

“We discussed Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and next steps. Ukraine’s position is now the strongest it has been since the start of the war. Sustained support from partners is crucial to maintaining this momentum,” he stated.

Finland’s president also noted that Ukraine is ready for peace.

A few days ago, Zelenskyy said his American counterpart Donald Trump understands that it is Russia that is not interested in ending the war.

Zelenskyy also said that the turning point in his relationship with US President Donald Trump was a brief personal meeting at the Vatican, which took place at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome in April 2025.
