Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said security in Europe and the Indo-Pacific is closely interconnected, stressing that Ukraine and the Republic of Korea should deepen cooperation to counter shared threats.

Speaking after a discussion at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul, Sybiha said the two countries are “natural allies” because of the growing security challenges posed by Russia and North Korea, UATV English reports.

“I emphasized that the security of Europe and the Indo-Pacific is interconnected. That is why Ukraine and the Republic of Korea are natural allies,” Sybiha wrote on X.

According to the minister, the discussion focused on the expanding involvement of North Korea in Russia’s war against Ukraine, as well as Moscow’s transfer of resources and technologies to Pyongyang.

“Russia is exporting destabilization to the Korean Peninsula,” Sybiha said.

The participants also discussed international peace efforts, the battlefield situation, and Ukraine’s successful use of long-range strike capabilities against Russian military and strategic targets.

“Ukraine is ready to export security and share its unique experience to protect lives, stability, and peace,” Sybiha said.

Sybiha is visiting South Korea as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Earlier, he said Ukraine is particularly interested in expanding cooperation with the Republic of Korea in energy, security, infrastructure, logistics, and post-war reconstruction.
