Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko said Ukraine and Estonia have agreed to strengthen defense cooperation, particularly in the field of unmanned systems, following a series of high-level meetings in Tallinn, UATV English informs.

During her visit to Estonia, Svyrydenko held talks with Estonian President Alar Karis, Parliament Speaker Lauri Hussar, and Prime Minister Kristen Michal.

According to Svyrydenko, the two countries agreed to expand cooperation in defense technologies and maintain a regular exchange of experience in addressing security challenges.

A separate focus of the discussions was energy security. Estonia has contributed more than €2.6 million to Ukraine’s Energy Support Fund, while Kyiv is prepared to share its experience in energy decentralization and managing critical infrastructure under wartime conditions.

Svyrydenko described Estonia as one of Ukraine’s most consistent supporters on its path toward membership in the European Union and thanked Tallinn for backing EU financial assistance to Ukraine.

The sides also discussed increasing pressure on Russia through additional sanctions, including work on the EU’s upcoming 21st sanctions package and measures targeting Russia’s so-called shadow fleet.

Another key topic was the Bring Kids Back UA program, which seeks to return Ukrainian children who were illegally deported or transferred to Russia.

Svyrydenko noted that Estonia became the first country whose parliament ratified the agreement establishing a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine. The two countries are also cooperating on efforts to develop an international compensation mechanism for war-related damages.

The prime minister additionally thanked Estonia for its participation in reconstruction projects in Ukraine’s Zhytomyr region and said cooperation would continue to expand ahead of the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk.

The visit underscores Estonia’s role as one of Ukraine’s closest European partners in defense, sanctions policy, reconstruction, and support for Ukraine’s integration into European institutions.
