Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that Russia’s war in Europe must not lose global attention due to the conflict in the Middle East, UATV English reports.
In a statement, Zelenskyy stressed that ongoing attacks against Ukraine continue to claim civilian lives and require sustained international focus and support.
“It is important that the world does not remain silent about what is happening, and that this Russian war in Europe does not lose attention because of the war in Iran. Drones kill people the same way, and protection against cruise and ballistic missiles must be equally reliable,” he said.
He emphasized the need for timely implementation of all agreements to strengthen air defense, and called for continuous pressure on Russia, including uninterrupted sanctions.
“There must be no pauses in sanctions against Russia for every such strike,” he added.
Zelenskyy also highlighted the situation in Dnipro, where rescue operations are still ongoing following Russian attacks.
According to the president, Russian forces carried out repeated strikes using missiles and drones, targeting residential buildings, energy infrastructure, and civilian sites. A second strike hit the same residential area that had already been attacked overnight.
As of the latest updates, more than 40 people were injured, including children, with 23 hospitalized. Two individuals are still missing, and search efforts continue.
“Unfortunately, five people were killed in the city as a result of these strikes,” Zelenskyy said.
The remarks come amid growing concern that shifting global attention could weaken international support for Ukraine at a critical moment.
