Former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump is projected to win the key state of Michigan.
CNN forecasts Trump’s victory in Michigan, reporting that he has now secured 291 electoral votes in its election results map. Michigan offers 15 electoral votes, pushing Trump well beyond the 270 needed to win the 2024 presidential election.
In 2020, President Joe Biden won Michigan, reversing Trump’s victory there in 2016, which marked the first time a Republican carried the state since 1988. Notably, in addition to Michigan, Democrats had consistently won Wisconsin and Pennsylvania from 1992 to 2012, but Trump disrupted this pattern.
Trump has already declared his victory in the presidential race, pledging to work daily for a “strong, safe, and prosperous America.”
