President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the negotiations with the U.S. delegation were productive and detailed, and expressed hope for a “dignified peace”, UATV English informs.
He made the remarks at the closing of the German–Ukrainian Economic Forum.
Zelenskyy acknowledged that such discussions with the United States are not easy.
“Such conversations are always difficult. But the dialogue was productive. What matters is achieving a dignified peace.”
“But the conversation was productive, with a great many details, and it is important that peace be dignified — for us, this is crucial,” he said.
“We are continuing our diplomacy aimed at ending the war. We need to meet and work to create dignified conditions for ending the war. We must not forget where this war came to Europe from, and who brought it,” the president added.
“Our teams are working. We are moving point by point and determining the steps necessary for a dignified peace”, Zelenskyy added.
“While diplomatic processes are ongoing, Russia’s strikes continue every day,” Zelenskyy said.
The President of Ukraine also announced the launch in Berlin of one of the first arms export offices.
These days could decide a great deal and bring us closer to peace, the President of Ukraine said.

“There was progress with the U.S. team on many issues, but I do not know how the aggressor side will perceive it,” Zelenskyy said.
Earlier, AFP reported that during the talks in Berlin, U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner pressured the Ukrainian side to renounce the part of Donbas under its control.
Following this, Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia urged the public not to trust anonymous sources regarding the U.S. position in the negotiations.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov expressed hope that by the end of the day the U.S. and Ukrainian sides would be able to coordinate positions that would “bring Ukraine closer to peace.”
