Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the issue of unblocking a €90 billion loan for Ukraine will be addressed at the next meeting of the European Council scheduled for March 19UATV English reports.

Speaking at a briefing, the Ukrainian president said Kyiv expects a positive decision during the summit.

“We respect the EU and understand their position. They said they are waiting for a date from us. The European Council meeting is on March 19, Thursday… We will count on a positive decision,” Zelensky said.

He also stressed that Ukraine currently has no alternative source for these funds, which are considered critical for the country.

According to Zelensky, the decision is being blocked by only one EU leader — Viktor Orbán.

“We understand that these funds are being blocked by one person. Officially, there are no secrets about it… I believe this is connected to the electoral process,” Zelensky noted.

Earlier it was reported that €60 billion out of the €90 billion package for 2026–2027 would be directed toward Ukraine’s defense needs.
