On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of UNESCO, 12 platanus have been planted in the National Botanical Garden of Kyiv. The trees symbolize the connection with Crimea and remind of the role of UNESCO in the process of the deoccupation of the peninsula.
This is reported by the correspondent of UA.
The opening ceremony of the UNESCO alley was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova and the UN Coordinator in Ukraine Osnat Lubrani.
To remind, according to a UNESCO report, the Russian Federation has appropriated Ukrainian cultural values in the occupied Crimea, including 4,095 monuments of national and local importance, which are under state protection. This is a violation of international law.
