Ensuring the continued presence of NATO warships in the Black Sea would be a strong signal of support for Ukraine by Western partners in response to Russia’s aggressive actions.
This was stated by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, UA reports.
“The response to Russia’s aggressive actions should be a joint response from Ukraine, the EU and NATO. Ensuring the continued presence of Allied warships in the Black Sea would be a very strong signal of support for Ukraine” – the Prime Minister stressed.
Denys Shmyhal believes that Russia’s demonstration of military potential is being conducted to destabilize the situation in Ukraine, as well as in the countries of the European Union (EU) and NATO.
“Gas is already being used as a weapon not only against our country, but also against the whole of Europe. “The situation around Nord Stream 2 and the reduction in the transit of” blue fuel “through Ukraine clearly confirm this thesis” the Prime Minister stressed.
According to the head of government, the Russian Federation also constantly uses other tools of hybrid war against Ukraine and the West, including cyber attacks and disinformation campaigns.
To remind, situation related to the concentration of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine was a key topic of conversation between US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg ahead of the Alliance’s ministerial meeting in Riga.
