Ukraine has received observer status in the Association of International Police Cooperation on the Water AQUAPOL – a platform established in 2002.

According to law enforcement officers, the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the National Police of Ukraine has made even greater progress in creating a safe and secure environment for every Ukrainian.
“Since January 2022, operational cooperation and cooperation with law enforcement agencies of EU member states is reaching a new level – Ukraine has received observer status in the Association of International Police Cooperation on the Water AQUAPOL” – the Interior Ministry said.
Starting next year, new opportunities will open up for the Ukrainian Water Police to work effectively with partners from Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia and Germany within the Danube Center.
“This exceptional case, when a non-EU country is admitted to the association, indicates the interest of international partners in mutually beneficial cooperation with our country, which will contribute to the effectiveness of achieving a common goal in combating illegal migration, human trafficking, smuggling of goods; in the fight against illicit trafficking in weapons and drugs” – the agency said.
