President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is working on improving interceptor drones designed to shoot down Iranian-made Shahed attack UAVs, ensuring they can operate effectively in any weather conditions, UATV English reports.
“Today, we are upgrading interceptor technologies. We are talking about universal interceptors that can operate in any weather. This winter showed us that the interception rate was lower due to weather conditions. We are working on new technologies so that they can function in any weather,” Zelenskyy said while speaking with journalists.
The President added that new models of interceptor drones are expected to incorporate artificial intelligence in their operations.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that in February, more than 70% of Russian Shahed-type strike drones targeting Kyiv and its surrounding areas were destroyed by interceptor drones.
