The parties didn’t agree on an “Easter truce” during the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on April 28, because they did not agree on the final text of the statement. Oleksiy Arestovich, advisor to the Ukrainian delegation in the TCG, told about this, according to UATV.

At the same time, Arestovich drew attention to the positive moment that took place during the negotiations. The Russian side admitted that representatives of the occupation administrations of certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions are not the subject of negotiations.

“They usually insist that Russia is not a party of the conflict and that we are dealing with separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, or the ORDLO. However, today one important Russian person – I will not say who, diplomatic etiquette – came in and said that, of course, they recognize the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine and there is no talk of “republics”. And that they must fulfill the Minsk agreements, where there is an armed formation of the ORDLO, but there is no ORDLO as a subject”, Oleksiy Arestovich said.

The head of Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk, following the results of negotiations at the TCG on April 28, said that there is a chance to establish a truce in the Donbas before Easter. Negotiations on the establishment of an “Easter truce” continue.
