Afghan film director Sahraa Karimi, evacuated from Kabul, arrived to Kyiv on the evening of August 17.
UA reports this referring to Andriy Yermak‘s Twitter page.
Was glad to greet @sahraakarimi & her family in #Kyiv. Now they are safe and sound. @sahraakarimi is the first female chairperson of the @Afghanfilm1 & director whose films are renowned beyond 🇦🇫 borders.

It’s a shame that today's 🇦🇫 is unsafe for brilliant talents like her. pic.twitter.com/oL1NkNgpac
As reported, on August 15, the Taliban entered the suburbs of Kabul. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country. The Taliban said they would wait for the final withdrawal of foreign troops before starting to form a new government.
On August 17, 120 Ukrainians appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to leave Afghanistan, which was under the control of the Taliban. There is a plane at Kabul airport that is supposed to take Ukrainian citizens out, but it cannot take off due to a ban on flights for civilian aircraft.
