Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, implied that the West provoked the war in Ukraine played into Putin’s hands but other UK officials say it’s him who does such thing.

That’s according to Sky News.

“What he said was completely wrong and only plays into Putin’s hands […] And this kind of appeasement is dangerous for Britain’s security, the security of our allies that rely on us, and only emboldens Putin further,” UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak reacted to Nigel Farage telling BBC that the West caused the war in Ukraine.

Labour’s shadow environment secretary Steve Reed was shocked by Farage’s comments and said that everyone got a chance to witness “Nigel Farage get down on his knees and kiss Vladimir Putin’s boots”. He also assured that the Labour Party is nowhere close to giving up on support for Ukraine.

Farage used to share posts on social media that he was one of the few people that tell the truth about the war with Russia. Previously, one of the Reform election candidates, disgraced the party by saying that the UK “should have taken Hitler up on his offer of neutrality”.

It should be noted that ahead of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Ukraine didn’t participate in any negotiations with NATO while in 2023-2024 Finland and Sweden joined the alliance.
