The Ukrainian military can use Javelin anti-tank missile systems throughout the country only for self-defense.
This was announced at a briefing by Pentagon spokesman John Kirby, UA informs.
‘We expect that they [Javelin, – ed.] will be used for self-defense. There are no restrictions on where exactly they can be used in Ukraine’ – he said.
John Kirby added that in the event of an offence against Ukraine, the United States could send additional forces at the request of NATO allies in Eastern Europe.
To remind, the United States and the European Union have agreed to punish Russia in the event of an attack on Ukraine. The day before, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and European Council President Charles Michel held talks and decided that the response to the Kremlin’s actions should be swift and tough.
