The Cabinet of Ministers made a decision to ensure the continuity of the preparation of the Ukrainian national team for participation in the international sports competition “Games of the Unconquered” in 2022.
The Cabinet of Ministers decided to provide ongoing training for the Ukrainian national team to participate in international sports competitions “Invictus Games” in 2022.
This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, UA informs.
“The event has already been postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Games that were supposed to take place this year in The Hague by the decision of the Council and the Foundation for International Sports Competitions “Invictus Games” are scheduled for the period from 16 to 22 April 2022. Despite this, the training camps of Ukrainian veterans continue, because defenders need to keep physical shape and show good results. The government decision will ensure quality training of the Ukrainian national team. Our team will represent Ukraine in 8 sports, in particular, in swimming, running, shot put, archery, wheelchair basketball” – the message says.
Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Yuliia Laputina said that these competitions are traditional for soldiers who suffered during the defense of the state, but found the strength and will to join the competition to achieve sports results, as well as to win over themselves.
“We support physical culture and sports events in every possible way, we are proud of the courage and motivation of the participants. The example of “Invictus Games” helps many defenders and defenders of Ukraine to gain victories over their own life circumstances” – Laputina said.
