German Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned Russia against aggression against Ukraine.

Speaking today, November 25, at a joint press conference in Berlin with her Polish counterpart Mateusz Morawiecki, the outgoing Chancellor said that the European Union should be ready to impose additional sanctions against Russia if the situation in eastern Ukraine and around it or on the Belarusian border and Poland will escalate.
“Any further aggression against Ukraine’s sovereignty will be costly” – Merkel said.
She added that detente should always be the best option.
To remind, situation related to the concentration of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine was a key topic of conversation between US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg ahead of the Alliance’s ministerial meeting in Riga.
